The project

For many years, the OECD-ENSI project 'Environment and School Initiatives' has served as a platform for professional exchange between researchers in environmental education and teachers from about 20 countries. Teacher research, in the form of action research, is an important element of the project. Environmental education opens a broad interdisciplinary, reality-oriented field of learning with issues, which can be associated with relevant current questions of the social and natural sciences. For the first time an ENSI conference will be held in Hungary addressing the field of the teacher education. This conference brings two networks together: ENSI   involved in innovation and education, SEED - involved in networking and mainstraiming ENSI outcomes.

Aims of the conference

  • Exchanging experience and discussing concrete use of action research in teacher education and interdisciplinary environmental education.
  • Learning about instruments and methodology for research in teacher education, especially action research.
  • Developing perspectives for continuing or starting research projects.

Participants

The international conference addresses teacher educators who are engaged in environmental education with an interdisciplinary perspective and are active in research and development or want to get involved in the near future.
The working language of the conference will be English.

The case studies presented will serve as a basis for professional exchange and further development of research approaches during the conference.
