Sulinet Express ICT based modular in-service teacher training program
The planned program consists of ten modules; each of them lasts 30 hours. The modules are the following:
Operation and use of the Sulinet Digital Knowledge Base within the process of teaching and learning. Participants get familiar with the framework and the application opportunities of the Sulinet Digital Knowledge Base. They obtain skills in operating the system, in searching and applying LOs. After the training they should be able to develop and edit LOs independently within the framework of the Sulinet Digital Knowledge Base. They get acquainted with the methods and opportunities of collaborative education and learn how to apply these successfully.
Opportunities of computer use within the process of teaching and learning. Teachers deal with the educational interrelations of ICT and the typical changes in the education system of the information society. They get familiar with the application opportunities of the ICT in the education and its effect on students. They acquire skills related to practical questions of these techniques and how to integrate ICT into different educational fields. They should also be able to plan and coordinate the educational application of ICT.
Application of multimedia-based software and tools in effective pedagogical work. The participants get to know ICT techniques supporting education; special multimedia-based hardware tools (e.g. digital camera, scanner); elements of the multimedia-based applications (text, picture, sound, video, animation); pedagogical, ergonomic, didactic and technological principles and operations of multimedia-based educational programs‘ application, planning and development.
Theoretical and practical questions of the constructive teaching-learning methods, the collaborative tools of the Sulinet Digital Knowledge Base supporting the constructive educational methods. They get familiar with the pedagogical approach contributing to the establishment of the “school of the future” through effective and constructive pedagogical methods, teaching and learning techniques. Practical examples and exercises are demonstrated.
Use of digital educational tools during teaching of scientific subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography). Participating teachers get familiar with the methods of computer-supported education (electronic presentation, modelling and measuring, computer supported evaluation and project planning, LO development, etc.). They get familiar through case studies with the digital planning and application of scientific projects, with opportunities and methods of virtual experimenting and with the bases of editor programs related to vocational subjects. They also get to know the opportunities and methods of the virtual world. They become able to develop new LOs and to apply them in the digital education though getting acquainted with application opportunities of the Sulinet Digital Knowledge Base.
Use of digital educational tools in the education of arts subjects (Hungarian language and literature, History, Drawing and visual culture). Participating teachers get to know methods of computer-supported education. They acquire skills in teaching of classical subjects using special digital tools. They get familiar with the digital planning and application of projects, with the opportunities and methods of the virtual world, with the bases of the information resources related to vocational subjects. They become able to develop new LOs and to apply them in the digital education though getting acquainted with application opportunities of the Sulinet Digital Knowledge Base.
Use of digital educational tools in the education of Mathematics. Participating teachers get familiar with methods of computer-supported education. They acquire skills in teaching of Algebra, Geometry and Mathematical analysis using digital tools (computer algebraic systems, dynamic geometrical programs, function operating programs, etc.). Teachers study and become able to apply new opportunities of the Internet in teaching Mathematics. They become able to develop new LOs and to apply them in the digital education though getting acquainted with application opportunities of the Sulinet Digital Knowledge Base.
Use of digital educational tools in learning/teaching Informatics. Participating teachers get familiar with methods of computer-supported education. They become able to apply new opportunities of the Internet in teaching Informatics. They learn how to develop new LOs and to apply them in the digital education.
Extension of methods of teachers dealing with special educational needs children through using computers. The aim of the training is to provide new pedagogical knowledge, which makes the process of education and bringing up more successful in the different branches of special education. They get acquainted with special tools (headband, Optabraille) and OCR programs (e.g. Recognita) developed for handicapped children and for students with special educational needs.
Opportunities of computer supported education in the field of public education – training of experts working in education – leading and operation. Participants get to know the content of the Sulinet modular based in service teacher training program. They study the relation between special and traditional learning environments, the content and methodological elements of the computer supported learning, the social relations of ICT, the basic tools of ICT, methods related to constructive pedagogy, etc. They learn to use multimedia related hardware, software and educational programs and the framework of the Sulinet Digital Knowledge Base.
